Dear MVR Supporters,

Despite what it looks and feels like outside, Spring has blissfully returned, and we couldn’t be happier about it!

As we welcome back the blooms and the bees and watch the snow melt under the warmth of the sun’s rays and longer days, we thought it would be a great time to spring into all things MVR and to share all that has happened and is happening with Mancos Valley Resources and our wonderful projects.

We were thrilled to celebrate our Project of the Year, Montezuma Youth Alliance, at our Annual Project Potluck in February. Jorie and her team do so much to mentor, create connections, and provide safe spaces for the youth of Mancos. Check out the picture of our celebration below and learn more about their great work here!

Mancos Trails Group was featured in the beautiful Spring 2023 issue of Spoke + Blossom. See below for a picture of this good-looking team and read the entire article on our Instagram post here.

The Mt. Lookout Grange, Mancos Valley Resources, the Mancos Chamber of Commerce, and the Mancos Creative District were generously awarded funds from the Town of Mancos to help facilitate a non-profit summit, and on April 11th, over 30 Mancos-serving non-profits will gather at the Grange to share their talents, missions, and visions. This gathering is sure to be teeming with energy and rich cross-pollination–we are delighted to be a part of it!

MVR is beyond excited to announce our inaugural round of Continuing Education scholarships, which will open May 1st. More details will be announced in the coming weeks, but if you know someone who could use more funding to make their educational dreams a reality, let them know about this upcoming opportunity. Applications will be open May 1st-June 15th.

The Mancos Valley Farmer’s Market will reopen on Thursday, June 1st, and run every Thursday through October 12th, from 4-6:30 pm in Boyle Park. They are currently accepting vendor applications! Click on the application link here or the image below!

We also have a late Spring workshop in the works!  Keep your eyes open for our announcement on Facebook, Instagram, and our Website.

Finally, we have a new face around here!  Our new administrator replacing the inimitable Kim Cox, who has been teaching, training, and introducing her to all of the many facets of MVR. While she has been learning the ropes and getting acquainted with all of our projects, she’s also been exploring all of the wonderful things that Mancos has to offer. When you see her around town, be sure to offer her a warm Mancos welcome!

Read on to see more of what our projects are up to and all of the ways that you can get involved!

As always, we are so grateful for your continued support!

Warmly,
Dana and All of Us at Mancos Valley Resources
