Welcome Fall! There’s so much beautiful foliage in bloom, and just as the trees’ rich, golden hues signal a shift into a new view, we are looking forward to all that’s still coming up this year–and want to share all of the great news we’ve already celebrated. Read on to learn about it all!

Looking back…

  • As we all know, Mancos Days is a fantastic weekend for our town, and this year, we were so grateful that THREE of our projects–Mancos Foodshare, Mancos Gear Share, and Pay It Forward Fund (PIFF) were awarded funds to help the efforts of the work they do. Thank You for your generosity, Mancos Days!
  • We were thrilled to announce the 2024 Joseph Arado/Mancos Valley Resources Continuing Education Scholarship awardees Andres Moreno, Tia Imel, Trinity Samora, Riley Cannon, Lane Greenlee, Sophie Eschallier, Makayla Wayman, and Lilly Figueroa. This year, we were able to award $15K to these hard-working and deserving students!  These scholarship awards are made possible through the deep generosity of Joseph Arado, and it is an honor to be able to carry on his legacy by supporting these deserving students. The next round of scholarship applications will reopen on May 1st, 2025. Mark your calendars!
  • WOO-HOO! Over $14K was raised for MVR and our project Mancos Foodshare at the 7th Annual Mancos Valley Brewfest on August 17th. Click here to read the Cortez Journal article about this annual event hosted by the ever-generous Mancos Brewing Company’s Kathy Hands and DeWayne Jackson. We are so grateful for their support!

And looking forward…

  • We are thrilled to have Mancos local Andrés Esparza leading two Intentional Leadership workshops in the coming weeks! The workshops–held on October 10th and October 15th at Mt. Lookout Grange–will offer models for rethinking how we manage our time, needs, and communication to build best practices as effective leaders—and people—living in a fast-paced and often overwhelming world. Registration is now open by emailing dana@mancosvalleyresources.com. See our flyer below for more details!
  • Get your tickets today for the 6th Annual Mancos Valley River Film Festival happening October 26th at the historic Mancos Opera House! This year, the feature film is “The Forgotten Coast”. There will also be a silent auction filled with must-have goods and delicious local food and drink to enjoy! Come watch some incredible films and support MVR!
